Entire childhood was spent in Dosanjh Kalan, but he later moved to Ludhiana, Punjab, where he did his formal education and high school graduation. He completed his high school graduation from Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School.

When he was in school, he began his singing career. He, back then, used to perform Kirtans at local Gurudwaras.

1. His main struggle was a language barrier; as we know, he is a Punjabi boy, so this restricted his primary language being Punjabi. He tried and had many struggles to make a good command of Hindi.

3. In 2016 he got the best debut actor award for the movie Udta Punjab, and in 2013 he got an award for the most popular song of the year for the song proper patola. The latest he got in 2019 is for best comic actor for the movie Good Newz.
