Why do we celebrate Bhogi?

Lord Indra, the deity of rain and clouds, is honored on Bhogi Day.

Farmers adore Indra to win his blessings for a bumper crop that will make them prosperous and successful.

This day became known as Indran as a result.

How is Bhogi celebrated?

On the day of Bhogi Pandigai, people get up early to start a bonfire with wood and other solid fuels, also known as Bhogi Mantalu among the locals.

On this day, people consume homemade cookies.

Another festival centered around dolls and accessories is Bhogi Day.

The plums transform into costa bonfires on that day.

The bonfire festival where everyone congregates is far from some of the villages.

This festival is not observed in many of the state’s villages in the Vijayanagar District.

Some of today’s youngsters aren’t even aware of the Bhogi in Marathi or Telugu.

Significantly, today is not the bonfire festival because of a long-ago event.
