Anrich Nortje, the South African fast bowler for the Delhi Capitals, has been putting in some impressive performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. While he’s been happy with his form, he admits that he hasn’t been able to take the wickets he’s been wanting.
“I’m feeling good with my bowling at the moment, but I haven’t quite got the wickets that I wanted,” Nortje said in a recent interview. “But that’s the nature of the game sometimes. You can bowl well and not get wickets, and other times you can bowl poorly and take a lot of wickets.”
Nortje has been consistently clocking speeds of over 150 km/h, making him one of the fastest bowlers in the tournament. Despite his pace, he has only managed to take four wickets in the five matches he’s played so far.
“I’m not too worried about the wickets though,” Nortje added. “I’m just focusing on doing my job for the team and trying to contribute to our success. The wickets will come if I keep bowling well and doing the right things.”
The Delhi Capitals are currently sitting in second place on the IPL points table, and Nortje’s contribution with the ball has been crucial to their success. With plenty of matches still to come, there’s no doubt that Nortje will continue to be a key player for the team.
